Reasons for any addiction can never be explained. The only reason is a weak mind that is wired wrong. Can it ever be fixed? A weak mind always has another prey.

If there is such thing as reincarnation
Why were we designed not to carry learnings from 1 lifetime to another? Do we now just spend lifetime after lifetime making the same mistakes, learning the same lessons....
What does the soul store? Nothing? If it has a memory of its own, why does it not impart its memory on the physical being in a larger way? Why does the DNA remember our ancestral lineage from generations? Why was there nothing in terms of concrete life learnings and lessons not made a part of our DNA to be carried forward from one lifetime to the other? If the soul lives on forever and transmigrates from one physical being to another, wouldn't it have been a better design of the human system to be able to store key learnings and experiences from life on the immortal soul (or even the DNA) rather than the mortal brain? That would have made our species a true learning system.
Why was the soul chosen to transmigrate over the brain? Do we now just spend lifetime after lifetime making the same mistakes, learning the same lessons....

Love-ly life of a pool table....
Midst the lovely Nilgiris, By a young flowing stream...
An idyllic rainy evening, With a cup of tea
Looking through an open rustic wooden window, On a vintage orange wall I see..
Two souls have met, Like two youthful rivers,
gushing over the colorful smooth pebbles,
Forming unrestrained cascades, In the beaming valley of new love..
Snooker balls spread all over,
Being moved with a hurried purpose
Here's to another photo op for the new bride and groom leaning over!
Ever amidst newly weds,
Ever amidst the romance and promise of new love,
Largely ignored, never seen fame, Not even a good game..
Lies a majestic pool table....
I see its life - Restrained to a small room,
Largely ignored, never seen fame, Not even a good game..
Behind the vintage orange wall and the withered wooden window pane..
Sipping my tea all by myself, on an idyllic rainy evening, I can't help but think..
Ain't its life still so beautiful? :)

If there is a God..
Contributing to ones faith is also a service to mankind.
When the tides are rough and the waves have torn the raft apart it is just hope which keeps the spirit alive.
What else fuels hope more than faith? When you have no option but to ride the tide, be thankful for those who help you keep the faith.. Yes, places of worship are bandaids to a bleeding soul..
